Pull the parking brake up, and pull up on the console right behind the boot

After the console pops up, pull back towards teh rear of the car, and the console should pull out. Then unplug the connector on the back.
Step 2: Preping the console and installing the boot
Remove the screws (4) on the back of boot

Lets compare the two boots, out of the box

We start by removing the staples in the TL boot

once split, grab the metal peice from the oem assembly, and slide it in place of the plastic piece on the tl boot. keeping in mind that the narrower portion of the boot should be in forward side of the metail bracket, inother words, the narrow portion of the boot should be over the top two lobes pictured below on the metal peice

Once installed it should look like this

slide that bad boy into the console and bolt it in

End result
Follow reverse procedure to reinstall the console. Keep in mind the shift knob is gonna need to be threaded in, so its gonna be hard to turn. I suggest using a towel, or rag for added strenth in turning the knob.
